Something else I done

This is Nick, Whitney's boyfriend. He is from England, but got his accent beat out of him by Dairy Queen.

This is Whitney. She is a ceramics major I met in Sculpture class.

These are Hannah's housemates. In panel 2 is Laura, and in panel 3 is Tobin.

Bryna is a cartoon character! On the internet!

Something I can share!

Here's the stop-motion animation whose creation I took part in (many sleepless nights later):

Procrastination is making comic strips

There were some really wonderful animations, and some that made me lose all faith in that art world. On the wonderful side, this one was my favourite, hands-down:

I lost my little paintbrush, so I've been doing the inking with black marker these past few days. Also, that is so not what my grandma looks like, but so what she acts like.

Some backstory: Jordan said he'd rob me unexpectedly because I breathed on his cookies. And unfortunately, he didn't steal my bed. He just wishes he did.

"This program" being Soundbooth CS3. It's great for editing single sounds, but it won't let you layer or mix sounds at all. Which is a little...bizarre for sound software.

I don't know WHAT is going on with Joelle's hair in panel 2...

I have been WAY less than diligent in this daily comic endeavour. But I have been drawing them once in a while!

I don't think I portrayed it very well; it was a video projection of balloons exploding (on ENDLESS LOOP), with a pile of popped balloons in front of it.

You'd be surprised at the amount of time spent talking like this in our family.

It's odd that I got so upset, given that I used to kill them daily. Situational sympathy?

If you read dinosaur comics, you may already have heard this, but I think it's worth passing along: the least desirable song. I sat through all 22 minutes of it, and it was excruciating, but I think it would be worth your while listening to the first and last 2 minutes. Or at least until you hear the kid say "hey everybody! It's Christmas time!"

Jordan and I don't need pot to be stoners.

(Not to demonize mom or anything...but that was pretty bad timing.)

Never before has bad CG terrified me so much. I hate it when the media targets my paranoia.

Every time I hear about the "big bang" experiment, I get this sudden wave of rage, fear, and sadness that's so unexpected and so intense it leaves me dumbfounded. It's like being punched in the stomach.
It's a waste of money.
It's a waste of natural resources.
It's a waste of land.
It's a waste of legitimately intelligent scientists.
This is what happens whan a group of people cuts themselves off from the world. You see it in art. You see it in genetic engineering. You see it in software design. The world lets a group of people step over the line and nobody stops to ask "why?"
What's the point of recreating the conditions just after the big bang? What's the point of struggling to understand the universe? These are children breaking their rattles to see what makes the sound. Once the answer is found and the mystery is revealed, what then?
Where does science go from here?

Drunk money

This was after Bree's going-away party, which she spontaneously invited me to after I ran into her on the train. Speaking of trains, those bellinis hit me HARD (it was doubles night). And apparently I am equal parts philanthropist and jerk when I'm drunk. (Go get yourself something nice? Who says that?)

(bones, actually. But good try, Dad)

A couple of days ago I started playing with our (relatively) new scanner. These are the eerie results:

(try to ignore the saran wrap)
