Never before has bad CG terrified me so much. I hate it when the media targets my paranoia.
Every time I hear about the "big bang" experiment, I get this sudden wave of rage, fear, and sadness that's so unexpected and so intense it leaves me dumbfounded. It's like being punched in the stomach.
It's a waste of money.
It's a waste of natural resources.
It's a waste of land.
It's a waste of legitimately intelligent scientists.
This is what happens whan a group of people cuts themselves off from the world. You see it in art. You see it in genetic engineering. You see it in software design. The world lets a group of people step over the line and nobody stops to ask "why?"
What's the point of recreating the conditions just after the big bang? What's the point of struggling to understand the universe? These are children breaking their rattles to see what makes the sound. Once the answer is found and the mystery is revealed, what then?
Where does science go from here?
